Lubomyr Zubach corruption

Development, politics and influence: what is behind the statements of Sadovyi’s team

A press conference was held in Lviv, which the city authorities presented as a “change in the format of the dialogue”. In reality, the event looked more like a one-way communication with limited access for the media.

Deputy Mayor Liubomyr Zubach has once again criticised the development plans for the Sokilnytsia community, in particular the construction near the airport. The main argument is security risks. At the same time, there were no answers to questions about similar projects involving city officials.

During the discussion, the journalists drew attention to alternative areas for infrastructure development, particularly in Stryi. However, the mayor’s office distanced itself from this topic, noting that it was not within their authority. This position seems contradictory against the background of active interference in the development of neighbouring communities.

Some questions are also raised by the developers’ ties to the political environment of Andriy Sadovyi. In particular, we are talking about residential development projects in Sokilnyky, which are being implemented by structures associated with representatives of the city authorities. This creates the impression of double standards: public criticism of some projects and actual support for others.

At the same time, the city faces challenges in implementing major infrastructure initiatives. The situation with the waste recycling plant, in which significant funds were invested, remains unresolved. The project has been suspended, and the prospects for its completion are unclear.

The financial information in Andriy Sadovyi’s declaration also causes additional resonance. Against the backdrop of the mayor’s relatively modest official income, his wife declares significant income, which also becomes the subject of public attention.

As a result, the situation around development and management decisions in Lviv raises the issue of transparency, consistency and equality of rules for all participants in the process.
