The Lviv city council is preparing to consider amendments to the regulation on electronic petitions, which have already drawn criticism from public activists.
As Andriy Petryshyn stated, the new version of the document provides for lowering the age limit for participation in petitions to 14 years old.
The document was prepared by the department “Secretariat of the Council”, which is headed by Marta Rudnitskaya.
poyasnyuvalna-zapuskaPetryshyn believes that such changes may contradict the norms of the Civil Code of Ukraine and create risks of manipulation.
proekt-uhvalyHe also links the initiative to previous conflicts around petitions, in particular court rulings that obliged the city council to register petitions regarding Andriy Sadovy’s activities.
According to him, the relevant court judgement is now being enforced by the Executive Service.
The NGO “Audit Lviv” has already appealed to MPs to take into account the legal risks before the vote.
It is expected that consideration of this issue may become another stage of conflict between public initiatives and city authorities.
